Mechanic / Equipment Operator

The City of Aurora, Minnesota is seeking an outstanding candidate for a full-time Mechanic / Equipment Operator. Work involves mechanical maintenance on light and highway heavy equipment.  Assignments of the job range from minor adjustments to major overhaul and component rebuilds.  Responds to emergency circumstances 24 hours a day including snow removal during winter months. 

The position requires a 2-year vocational degree or High School Diploma plus 5 years of progressively complex repairs.  A Class B Minnesota Commercial Drivers License is required or must be obtained within 6 months of the start date.

Starting Pay Rate: $27.17 - 29.17 per hour

Part-Time Circulation Clerk

The Aurora Public Library seeks a reliable, detail-oriented person with excellent customer service and computer skills for this 12-hour/wk position (7.5 hours on Mondays, 4.5 additional hours per week). 

Wage: $13/hour.

Volunteer Firefighter

The City of Aurora is seeking a team-oriented person to fill a vacancy in its Volunteer Fire Department.  This part-time on call position is responsible for combating, extinguishing and preventing fires. Work involves training for and participating in duties of protecting life and property by firefighting and rescue operations, usually under close supervision and in difficult conditions. Considerable time is spent on drills, training, equipment operation and repair and maintenance of the fire hall.

Knowledge of the physical layout of the city is a plus, and candidates must meet department residency requirements (successful applicant does NOT have to live in City limits, but must live within defined response area).  Paid training is provided and must be completed within a reasonable time frame.
