Assists in the management and maintenance of seasonal operations and programs in the City of Aurora under the supervision of Public Works Working Supervisor. Handles the scheduling and day to day work assignments of the summer help crew. Additionally, this position also performs work alongside summer staff. The typical duties performed would include, but not be limited to assisting in mowing, snow removal, equipment repair and maintenance of city property. Duties may also include helping other city employees when needed, (Public Utilities, City Hall, Library, Community Center). Work will primarily take place during the summer season, however, during heavy snowfall periods, may be asked to assist with the snow removal process or other Department activities. The City of Aurora is seeking a team-oriented person to fill a vacancy in its Volunteer Fire Department. This part-time on call position is responsible for combating, extinguishing and preventing fires. Work involves training for and participating in duties of protecting life and property by firefighting and rescue operations, usually under close supervision and in difficult conditions. Considerable time is spent on drills, training, equipment operation and repair and maintenance of the fire hall. Knowledge of the physical layout of the city is a plus, and candidates must meet department residency requirements (successful applicant does NOT have to live in City limits, but must live within defined response area). Paid training is provided and must be completed within a reasonable time frame. |
